Baking is both a science and an art, and like both, it takes practice. If you’re just starting out as a baker, my best advice is this: have no fear.
Don’t be intimidated by a complicated recipe or process. Everyone, from Julia Child to your grandma, had to start somewhere and learn how to cream butter and sugar, roll out a pie crust, temper eggs, and use a piping bag to frost cupcakes. We learn by trial and error, and even the errors probably won’t be that bad.
By keeping a few simple things in mind, you can turn your kitchen into a place of joy.
